Sixteen Men of Christmas - Introduction

Last year we studied Ten Women of Christmas and found there were some very interesting characters who had historical significance leading up to the birth of Jesus, even some in His direct earthly lineage! This year, we plan to study the men who foreshadowed the coming of the Messiah, were in His lineage, or had a tremendous impact on His people. In Sixteen Men of Christmas we will discover (with some overlap):

  • ·        1 first man created
  • ·        1 man who saved his nation from starvation
  • ·        1 adoptive father
  • ·        1 man named “Praise”
  • ·        1 adopted son
  • ·        1 evil king
  • ·        1 elderly prophet
  • ·        1 one man who rolled on the floor laughing
  • ·        1 twin who stole his brother's birthright
  • ·        1 brother sold into slavery
  • ·        1 ruler of Egypt, second to Pharaoh
  • ·        1 giant-slayer
  • ·        1 man named “He will laugh”
  • ·        1 first sinner
  • ·        1 father of a nation
  • ·        2 who became fathers in their old age
  • ·        2 known adulterers
  • ·        2 levirate marriages
  • ·        2 sons of promise
